More Changes to Chalet Directives (posted 03/08/2002)

Some members have requested options at social events noting that, in their opinion, the fees are too high, that not everyone who is at the chalet wants to participate in and pay for a party, or that some people may want to participate in only part of the scheduled activity.

There are four to six weekends that are impacted by parties. While rules have been part of the Chalet directives, they have not been well publicized and/or have not consistently enforced. The following changes to the Chalet Directives will become effective immediately.

Party Weekends:

  1. There are two pricing structures for parties when there is a DJ or a band: dinner & party, or drinking and party. No other options will be offered.
  2. The kitchen is off limits during cooking and dinner times (12:00 pm - 8:00 pm).
  3. Party room & reading room are off limits for persons who choose not to participate in the party.
  4. Wristbands or other identifiers will be used to determine the option(s) for which a participant has paid. Individuals without identifiers will not be allowed in the party area.
  5. RSVPs will continue for parties and meal plans will be made for 10%-15% more participants than sign up.

There will be one pricing structure for dinner parties to include food and drinks that are specified in the dinner menu during the dinnertime only. Normal charge for draft beer at the bar will be charged after dinner is over.

Chalet Directive Changes (posted 12/05/2001)

At the November 2001 Board Meeting, the board voted to change the Chalet Directive regarding nights allowed at the chalet. One of the board members had gone through the numbers and based on the existing directive a member could stay up to around 85% of the days each month. Since this club is designed as a mountain getaway and not a home we felt that this was a little too liberal.

The revised directive provides that a member may stay up to 4 consecutive nights out of a seven day period, but that the maximum percentage for the month is no more that 40%. In an average month the 40% equates to 12 nights. This would still allow someone to stay there for 4 different 3-day weekends in one month or 2-four day weekend and 2-two day weekends. If someone plans to stay more than these amounts they must get board approval.
